Chromatographic Immunsassay kit for rapid qualitative determination of Tsutsugamushi using blood specimen
Tsutsugamushi disease is an infectious disease caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi. It is characterized by ulcers with crusts where the larvae of the tick are attached to the skin and sucked blood. The incubation period varies from 6 to 21 days, but usually is about 10 to 12 days. After the incubation period, symptoms such as fever, sweating, headache, conjunctival congestion, and enlargement of lymph nodes (a enlarged state, enlargement) appear. About a week after the onset of fever, dark red, spotty papules appear in the torso, spread to the limbs, and disappear within a few days. Most of the infected people develop a characteristic crust on the skin. It may be accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
