It is a disease that can cause dehydration by causing vomiting, fever, and watery diarrhea without blood. It is a disease that mainly occurs in infants and children, and group outbreaks may occur in geriatric wards. It is also a cause of traveler's diarrhea or AIDS diarrhea in adults. Rotavirus infection is caused by rotavirus, which belongs to the Reoviridae family. Rotavirus is present in the stool of infected people from before clinical symptoms appear until 10 days after symptoms disappear. Rotavirus can be easily spread through hands and mouth during this period, even if an infected person does not show symptoms. If you do not wash your hands after going to the bathroom or changing your child's diaper, the virus can be transmitted to other people through your hands. Sometimes the virus is spread through contaminated water or infected droplets.
